We're Engaged: The Venue Finale!

You guysssssssssss.

Is this really happening?

We found a venue! Can I get an AMEN?

I said, "can I get an AMEN?!"

Drum roll, please.

Tyler and I have chosen McClain lodge for our wedding ceremony/reception! We are so thrilled. With the rustic lodge and beautiful landscape, it could not be more "us".

What we love about the property is that it is very secluded and on a lot of land, offering privacy. We wanted the ceremony to be outside (hence, the pavilion that they provide) and we wanted everyone to have access to the outside during the reception so that guests could shuffle in and out. There's also a fire pit. Oh my, it's adorable :). Let's pray for chilly weather.

A few pics of the property (I do not take credit for these pictures):

Let's hope the venue was the most difficult decision to be made and everything from here on out will be MUCH easier!

We're Engaged: Venue Shopping Part 2

This week, we toured the Cedars on Old Canton road in Jackson.

When we drove onto the property, we were greeted by a smiling woman in her mid-60's holding a case of beer in each arm.

"The good thing about weddings - you get to take home the leftovers," she says followed by a big belly laugh.

Everyone knows I'm a sucker for good beer.

We instantly fell in love.

Everyone on the property made us feel so welcome. They were completely relaxed and showed us around like we were new neighbors across the street.

The oak trees were spectacular. It is probably what I loved most about the property!

A tin roof- oh so southern. I cant resist a tin roof.

The house once served as a stage coach stop in the 1800's for people headed towards Canton. They renovated it and it is so spacious and charming.
We loved the house. With every venue we see, our theme changes. With Providence Hill Farm, it was Kentucky Derby/old south. With The Cotton Market, it was a down home, good ole country wedding. And with this, we see a sweet, backyard party with a touch of vintage.  I sure do love it's rustic charm.

Happy Friday!

We're Engaged: Venue Shopping Part 1

Yesterday we met up with the sweetest woman who gave us a tour of The Heart of Pines in Brandon. We are thinking we want to go a bit vintage with the overall theme of the wedding, so the Victorian house was the perfect touch.

The inside of the home was very spacious. You could rent out the 5 bedrooms for overnight stay for your bridal party if you wanted, which I thought was pretty cool. The kitchen was beyond adorable and had a lot of windows that looked outside. It's the perfect house for that bride and groom who want their guests to shuffle between outside and inside. The house originally resided in Canton before the owners moved it and plopped it down on this land! I wanted to live in it!

The barn was cute, although I was expecting a little more from the inside of it. It needed some work! They did, however, have separate stalls that once served as stables, and could put different types of food stands in the stables.

They had a gazebo that has recently been built. The owners built it to where the sun would set as you were saying your vows. Tyler and I are not a huge fan of gazebos, so that did not sell us on anything.

The adorable little kitchen that I want to live and cook in!

That's all for today, kids. Still haven't found "the one", but I think we're getting closer.
