Hump Day

Happy Hump Day, my peeps!

This past week my husband and I launched wearwillow.com and have been working out the kinks, photographing inventory and so much other stuff that goes into managing an online website!!! We've been SO busy that Saturday night was declared "no technology night" and we played board games (Taboo!) Boy, did we have fun! I highly recommend doing that if you're needing to unplug!

Check out the site and let us know what you think! Everything is under $100 and perfect for the girl on a budget! We add new inventory throughout the week and you can stay up-to-date on new additions by following @willowboutique on instagram!

Thanks for the love guys. I love you all!

Mistletoe Marketplace

On Thursday, we went to Mistletoe Marketplace to check out all the goodies that have been brought to Jackson from stores around the south!

I wish I would've taken more pictures...but I got caught up in shopping! Don't miss:

Awesome accessories by Molly Gee. I love the bow ties for the men.

Great interior finds for your house by The Corbel.

Antique plates by Kelly Wilson Antiques. Great for putting that little something on your wall.

Wow to paintings by Prayers on the Side. We saw a painting of the Lyceum and i'm still considering buying it!

Can I just say - the best honey you'll ever eat by The Savannah Bee Company - all harvested by hand!

Cute t shirts by A Rosy Outlook.

We're engaged: We found the gown!

After shopping at Mistletoe Marketplace on Thursday, mom suggested we check out some wedding gowns. We headed over to The Bridal Path to browse their selection of wedding dresses. We weren't expecting to find "the dress". We weren't even going to try any on!

We began to pull dresses from the rack.

"That's pretty."

"Look at this one."

"I like the lace."

"Love the neckline."

Pretty dresses that would be sure to win over that certain southern gal's heart.

We thought this was how dress shopping was supposed to be - judging dresses from a hanger, wondering if they would look prettier on a body.

And somewhere, nestled deep in the rack, mom pulled out a beauty.

No.one.said.a.word.

There were gasps, yes.

But no.one.said.a.word.

And then my grandmother suggested that be the first dress I try on.

I saved it for last.

And boy, oh boy. When people quote "third times the charm", they aren't lying!

This was my dress! The lace, the embroidery, the straps, the train. The gown was not white. It looked like it had been pulled from a trunk, sitting in an ancestors attic, collecting dust, waiting to be found.

And we found it.

I wish I had more pictures, but we weren't allowed to take pictures (I got a little sneaky, though.) You guys will have to stick it out and wait until October 26 rolls around. I can't wait for everyone to see it.

A few gowns that I tried on.
Sister Bridesmaid

We're Engaged: Bridesmaid Dresses

Call me crazy, but for years I've always pictured sporting a glass of champs in my hand while shopping for my wedding dress. It's true. So true. There is something special about hanging out with a bunch of girls, sipping champagne from whimsical flutes and trying on frilly dresses. This weekend, my dream became a reality!

And who better to call than your Maid of Honor to help you select the dresses your bridesmaids would wear on your special day!? Along with my MOH came my aunt and, of course, my sweet mom.

Ever since I got engaged, my mom and I had a special vision for my wedding - vintage, country. We never had dreams of a perfectly tailored wedding dress or chiffon bridesmaid dresses. We've always pictured homespun, heirloom pieces that looked truly vintage.

We found a designer that we loved online, Magnolia Pearl, and saw that the clothing was not available in Mississippi. Luckily, we found out that one of my moms friends sold the line directly from her house - and what a house it was!

Kim Duease is an interior decorator with the most eclectic, playful and colorful house you could ever imagine. Picture mismatched china, a mannequin as a lamp, a pink kitchen and a chair as a toilet seat. See what I mean? It's pure brilliance. This woman isn't afraid of diddly squat. Below are a few images of her kitchen (images borrowed from Posh Pads).

We filled our cups, pranced around in pantaloon pants and cranked the stereo. And boy were we pleased with the things we found. Take a look and see for yourself!

Yummy cakes for munching
Let me just say that we walked away with lots of goodies - a rehearsal dinner dress, bridesmaid dresses and what I will be wearing as we leave the reception! Sorry, but you'll just have to wait to see the results :).

Canton Flea Market

My grandmother, mother, aunt and I went to the Canton Flea Market last Thursday. I've been going for years. Even when I was in middle school, my mom would let me play hooky, and we would go shopping. I always have great memories from events like this, and every year I am reminded of why I go - to spend time with the ones I love.

This year it seemed to be extra crowded, more so than any other year. Did anyone else seem to think so?

For those of you who haven't been to the flea market, it is jam packed with goodies from jewelry to boot bird houses (as shown above). Almost everything is handmade (my kind of place!)

I left with a turquoise wrap bracelet from LoLeigh's and a lace, ruffled vest. Up next, Mistletoe Market for Christmas goodies! Simply can't wait.

Hope everyone is having a great Monday. Maybe this song will make it that much better.

ps. tomorrow's post: we picked a date!
