Woodsy Whimsical Wedding Part 1

Hey, my peeps! Sorry I've been MIA this week. A lot of work stuff has been happening that I must update you on! But before I go into any details, I have some amazing pictures to share…wedding pictures, that is! Yep, I got my wedding pictures in the mail yesterday. To say that I'm psyched is an understatement. It's amazing how much a captured moment can bring you back to that place in time. Looking at these with Tyler was so magical and raw. I almost saw my wedding in a whole new light - that's my wedding cake? Who are these people? What am I doing?! It's funny what the photographer captures and what your mind captures.

Speaking of photographers, this wedding was shot by the ever so talented Hunter Leone from Three Nails Photography. I kid you not - my photographer was the first thing I ever booked. I couldn't have made a better decision.

I hope you enjoy this wedding (part 1!) and a few of the engagement session pics...more to come tomorrow.

Our First Couples Shower

Throughout our wedding planning, it's been difficult to stick to a theme. Although our wedding theme is still very much vintage, it has somewhat transformed into a vintage wedding with a touch of floral - floral bridesmaid halos, floral aisle runner, floral programs. It only made sense that our hostess gifts reflect our special day!

The pots are from Anthropologie (my favorite store in the universe) and the succulents are from The Everyday Gardener in Fondren. Upon my visit to The Everyday Gardener, I was greeted with two smiley face women, the kind of women one imagines working in a garden store. They wore cute aprons, made funny jokes and giggled - and they knew flowers. Within 10 minutes of my visit, they had whipped up 5 beautiful arrangements, moss and all. They are the kind of women one can't forget. I left with a feeling that I had made two new friends, and I couldn't help but wonder when my next visit would be.

The weekend ended with Tyler and I having our first couples shower at his grandmother's house. I don't have another word to describe it besides magical. We felt so loved! Every one was so attentive to us and went out of their way to make sure we had the best experience possible. And we did.

Pictures are worth a thousand words, so I will leave you with photos of just how special our shower really was!

Before
After
Thank you to our selfless family and friends for being so generous and giving us such a wonderful memory that we will cherish for a life time.

Floor Plan

As Tyler and I prepare for the big move, we're faced with a tough decision - choosing a floor plan that best fits our needs. Now, I might sound a little dramatic, but this is a big deal! This will be a place where we cook dinners together, house our family when they visit, and experience the joys of newlywed life.

We've decided on an apartment since we're not certain on the areas we want to live, but we're as excited as if it were our very own home.

We're leaning more towards the Sicily because it looks as if there is more closet space and the kitchen isn't divided...plus the living room is bigger. We'll take it!

Save The Date Part 2

Yippee! Woo Hoo! Hooray!

Our Save the Dates went out last week, and we're thrilled about 'em. We kept a vintage theme with the old fashioned lollipops and clothing since our wedding is art deco (1920's). My precious fiancĂ© was totally cool with wearing a vintage cap, and I got my vintage dress off of Etsy. It's so precious that I'd wear it to work!

Sorry if the picture is a little blurry. We scanned it!

Wedding plans are moving along swimmingly!

Wedding Update

It feels good to be back on the blog! I have to admit that I never thought I'd be the type to not update for weeks at a time. Life has been busy, and I have to remind myself that I AM planning a wedding, running a business and preparing for life after I Do. I've been wanting to take you along for the ride, but it's so difficult when everything is happening so fast. Please forgive me!

Here is a little sneak peek of pictures that we took today (with my camera). We needed a quick save the date picture and have chosen one (not shown) to be our save the date card. Yay! We haven't taken our "real" engagement pictures soon, but they will come shortly! We can't wait! Ps. I found the dress I'm wearing on Etsy. It's vintage and I adore every inch of it, especially the bowtie around the neck. I'm totally going to start shopping for vintage clothes more. They're just too cute to pass up. Anybody have any ideas on where I can start looking?

I promise, I plan to be a full time blogger as soon as all of the crazy stuff subsides. I think about this blog every day and can't wait to put a lot of my ideas into actions...sooner or later!

TGIF

Tyler recently shared with me something I did not realize (perhaps because I wasn't aware that anything was about to happen).

The night we got engaged, his fortune cookie read:

Coincidence?

Totally framing this.

Happy Friday :)
