Ooh La La: Honeymoon Lingerie

My mom and I recently stopped by Victoria's Secret to pick up my and my sister's annual Christmas pajamas. This is a tradition my parents started for our family, and I plan on doing the same when I have my children. Besides, who doesn't want to wake up on Christmas day opening presents in fabulous new pj's!? You can count me in.

While shopping, mom mentioned looking at lingerie for my honeymoon next year. If any of you know my relationship with my mother, this is not an awkward thing. We have a very open and honest relationship. It is something I've always cherished, and it really made growing up easy because I could talk to her about anything and everything.

So, we began pulling frilly, sheer baby doll slips from the racks. Let me tell you this much, it was way more fun than I expected! I've never worn lingerie before, but I can see myself totally diggin' it for when Tyler and I are married.

Also, I was not born with any boobs whatsoever. My bra size (as you can see, I don't hold back on this blog) is a 34 A. Little buds. But...I was born with some junk in the trunk, so I try to find the best lingerie that will flatter my assets. Is this TMI?

Although we left the store without buying anything, I'm almost glad because that means we get to continue shopping for more lingerie to come! Yippee skippy!

My favorite in the store. The back hung low and it was so silky, soft!

What about you - did you wear lingerie on your honeymoon?

  2. Absolutely I packed away lingerie for our honeymoon. Some were gifts from bridal shower and others I bought on my own. I had a different outfit for each night. TMI? Have fun! :)

  3. I thought you were married too! Lingerie on the honeymoon is a must. Between a bridal shower and bachelorette party I am sure you will have plenty to choose from. It's so fun to get dolled up for your husband :)

  4. I did bring lingerie with me, but we eloped to Hawaii for a week, so I was most in a bathing suit the whole time. That is so sweet that you and your mom have such a special relationship, I definitely envy you for that.

  5. Surprisinly, I didn't wear a single piece on my honeymoon. My husband and I went to Mexico, so we were primarily in our swim suits for most of the time and when sexy time came around there didn't seem a point to put it all on just to take it off again. But you might be different. Take it just in case ;)

  6. Oh my gosh, I can't imagine shopping for lingerie with my mom! I think I would just be all awkward and twitchy in the opposite corner as my equally awkward and twitchy mom. Hah! But those are all so cute!

  10. LOL! This is post is too funny :) I love how you asked if it was "TMI"? Lingerie shopping is really fun! I remember after we got married the Hubbs & I went lingerie shopping because I got a couple VS gift cards from my bridal shower. And it was fun for both of us, but more especially for him ;) That is cute that you and your mom have that kind of relationship! Happy Wednesday :)

  11. Lingerie is so fun! I never wore it either until our honeymoon and marriage, and it is still one of my favorite things to shop for, four years later. There is something about feeling so SEXY that puts both of you in the mood! Both of you will enjoy these purchases, I promise! :)

  12. Haha, totally not TMI! I thought this post was pretty funny.

One of the best parts about getting married is all the lingerie you get at the bachelorette party!! So frilly and fun! But the best gift anyone got me from there was a simple black, silk bathrobe that goes to about mid thigh. It is so soft and I love wearing it around the house in the mornings when getting ready for work! I feel like I belong in Holywood, lol! The hubby loves it too!

I can definitely relate, and even though I don't have a boyfriend yet, I am still planning on wearing lingerie for my honeymoon.

  21. That silky mint set is sooooooo dreamy! VS has such gorgeous things, although I've only ever seen from the window because I feel that if I ever went in I would blush to death...I'm that awkward! I get shy just shopping in the lingerie section of Target haha...

But, I do have an appreciation for gorgeous lingerie however! I recently went out and bought myself quite a few things from Dita's Von Follies collection! If I was going on my honeymoon I would take a lot of Von Follies stuff :D

  22. My husband could care less.
I got some for the bridal shower so I get to still play dress up, but my husband says its too much work.
    He's a caveman.

  23. Haha I think it's great to open and proud of having no boobs, I too have no boobs. Though I used to, as a teenager for some reason I had a great pair of like, 32 Cs. And now, since I began practicing yoga religiously over 4 years ago, they have shrunk to a mere small B, bordering on A. Haha but you know, they just get in the way anyway.
I find that I rarely wear any lingerie type stuff, I barely make it into a regular bra these days as sports bras are basically what I live in. But I think that I will invest in some fun frilly things for our honeymoon next year, why not!

  24. Haha this post is AWESOME! Love how honest you are :) I had SOOO much fun shopping for our honeymoon in the months leading up to the wedding. Plus I had lots of friends/family members get me fun lil' outfits too! I still love buying it now :)

  26. Love this post! I had a lingerie shower during my bachelorette party weekend and it was SO much fun. My friends know I like all things girly and bow'ed up, so everything was really me. I wrapped them all up for the honeymoon and made Andre' a list to pick from and then he would unwrap that one. It was really fun! I got way more than nights we were on the honeymoon, so we still have some here that I'll have him unwrap for special occassions.
