Right now I am currently on my way to a job interview. Prayers are certainly welcome :).
So far, I've heard back from one job and the interviewer emailed me saying the position had been filled, and that the reason I wasn't hired was because I'm too qualified. I didn't know there was such a thing?
"You are wonderful, you just have more potential than being a runner! This job was too entry level for you. I had to find someone that would stay in that position for a while. You will find something much, much better."
I appreciate that they saw a lot in me and were honest about it. It really inspires me to reach for bigger and better things. Maybe I will be something great one day. Here's to hoping!
Hope you all had a lovely week and enjoy your weekend. Love you, mean it.

ugh, being overqualified is a nice compliment, but also frustrating! good luck at your interview, hope it's a great match!
ReplyDelete"Over-qualified" is often a nice way of saying that they want to find someone who will do the work for less pay. I hope you have better luck with your interview today.
ReplyDeleteI never thought much of the over-qualified until we were trying to hire a full time assistant at work - most were people that would probably get tired of the job after a month or so and my boss was looking for someone long-term. But the good news is that it means your perfect job is still out there for you! Praying for you this morning that your interview goes wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Robin, however, it also means she knew you probably wouldn't be happy in the position long term, because there was probably limited room to grow (& probably not much of a pay raise to go with it either). Think of it as a blessing in disguise ;) God has something better in store.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your interview! I totally agree... the weather is only frustrating once you have to go out in it. By staying safe and warm inside you can actually enjoy it a little. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah being overqualified stinks! Just means they dont want to pay you what you are worth. Whats meant to be will find a way! Obviously you are on to bigger and better things already. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteoh my gosh dear i wish we lived closer so we could hangout and get through this together!! i got the SAME THING. "you're overqualified." except my rejection didnt have that nice bit that followed yours. just remember you are NOT alone. i keep getting super down on myself but its just the nature of the times... itll happen and well wait for the right job and itll be worth it <3
ReplyDeleteyou can do it! when god closes a door he opens a window :)
ReplyDeleteHang in there girl...there is an amazing job out there for you!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the interview! I have heard a lot these days of people being "over qualified". I do hope you find just the right fit for you somewhere!

We've had quite the winter storm for the past 24 hours, but I don't mind a bit as long as I can stay inside and be warm! I hope you find a job that suits you soon!
