An item I'm loving - Floral Kilim Rugs!

Tyler and I are currently trying to find that perfect house for our first home. This is not easy, y'all...or either i'm really picky! But that's a story for another day. I am on a decor frenzy right now trying to figure out how I want our home to look, and it's just getting started!

I've always been the person who loves to decorate so much more than buy clothes or jewelry. Always. There is something about a home that is so much more important to me than anything else. There is no doubt that I was given these traits from my mother and grandmother, who so stylishly have transformed their homes throughout the years.

I've grown up watching them travel to markets, own a small shop, and I've seen mom build her dream house. Something that I've learned from them that Tyler has a hard time understanding - you never, ever finish decorating your home. It is something you always need to strive to update! Did you know the colors of your house, or something as small as throw pillows and lamps can age the way your house looks?

My mother always told me that she never had a childhood home. This was because my grandmother was constantly buying houses that needed TLC, fixing them up and selling them for more money. She's a pro at it, and it's definitely a gift that was given to her. My grandmother can walk into a home, tell you what needs to move where and why. It's incredible!

Although my mom moved houses 7-8 times throughout her childhood, my grandmother eventually settled into a home in Annandale that she still lives in to this day...but she's constantly re-decorating it.

I remember as a child coming over to her house and seeing construction workers knocking down walls and adding a brick arch; tearing down sheet rock and making new rooms; ripping up floors and laying down brick. I'm lucky to learn from someone like her.

With that being said, I want my and Tyler's home to have a bohemian country feel to it. We are both very artistic minded people, and I want our home to reflect that.

I am loving these floral Kilim rugs. They're all over eBay, and I'm going to get my hands on five one of them. What do you think about this look?
