I thought it would be a bit more fun, but it seemed that stress took over, and I began to get really antsy on finding the place where Tyler and I would say I Do.
Most people think searching for the perfect place to get married is so relaxing - oohing and aahing over the little details of a venue, imagining what it will look like on your wedding day, discussing vendors.
What people don't realize is that calling the venues is stressful enough! I had 2 venues never answer nor return my call (and they were two venues I was genuinely interested in). And, of course, seeing the venue, and it not meeting your expectations is a big bust.
The two venues we saw this week worth writing about were The Cotton Market and Providence Hill Farm. Both were spectacular venues.
The first two top images (below) are The Cotton Market. Their barn is the sweetest, most quaint venue. I could see Tyler and I having a simple party there with all of our close family and friends. Keep in mind that I say "close" because it only held 200, and we are expecting a lot more than 200 guests. That was the first deal breaker.
The second deal breaker was that there was no room for the bridal party to get ready in. They only offered pipe and draping that they would temporarily put up. When your party was done getting ready, they would take down the structure so the guests wouldn't see it upon entering the venue.
Being a wedding editor, most weddings that I edit have rooms that the bridal party gets ready in. I wanted all of my bridesmaids and groomsmen to feel comfortable, excited and relaxed. After all, they will be spending a large amount of time in this room!
So that venue was out.
But I sure will miss that cute little barn.
The two images above were of Providence Hill Farm.
Let me tell you, this was the most spectacular venue I'd ever seen. You felt like you were at the Kentucky Derby minus the sun hat and mint julep in hand.

We have a few more to check out, but I'll let you know what we decide!
